First Woman Vice President
Specioza Kazibwe made history in 1994. She became the first woman in all of Africa to hold the position of vice president. This was a very important moment for Uganda and for women across the continent. She served for nearly nine years.
Current Vice President
As of 2021, Jessica Alupo is the current vice president of Uganda. She is the second woman to hold this high office. She continues to serve alongside President Yoweri Museveni.
