Vicente Miera Campos (born 10 May 1940) is a Spanish former football player and manager. He was a skilled defender who played in 139 La Liga games. He scored two goals during his ten seasons, mostly with Real Madrid. After his playing days, he became a football manager for over 25 years. He even coached the Spanish national team for a short time.

Playing Career Highlights
Vicente Miera was born in Nueva Montaña, a neighborhood in Santander, Cantabria. He started his football journey playing for his hometown team, Racing de Santander, for two seasons.
Time with Real Madrid
In 1961, Miera joined Real Madrid, one of the biggest clubs in the world. He was part of a very successful team there. Even though he wasn't always a starting player, he helped Real Madrid win seven La Liga titles. La Liga is Spain's top football league. He also helped them win the European Cup in 1966. This is a huge competition for the best clubs in Europe.
Later Playing Years
In 1969, Miera moved to Sporting de Gijón. In his first year there, he helped the team get promoted to the top league. He played one more season before retiring in 1971. Miera played one game for the Spanish national team on 10 December 1961. It was a friendly match against France that ended in a 1–1 draw.
Coaching Career Highlights
Vicente Miera started his coaching career in 1974. He coached many different teams over more than 20 years.
Early Coaching Roles
His first professional coaching job was with Real Oviedo. After two years, his team was relegated from the top league. He then moved to Sporting de Gijón, where he coached for five years. During this time, he also spent one season, 1979–80, coaching RCD Español. He coached teams in both the top and second divisions of Spanish football. His last coaching job was with Sevilla FC in the second division during the 1997–98 season.
Coaching the National Team
Miera had already worked as an assistant coach for the Spanish national team for four years. In 1991, he became the head coach of the national team. He coached them for seven months, but they did not qualify for UEFA Euro 1992.
Olympic Gold Medal
However, in the summer of 1992, Miera took on a new role. He became the coach of the Spanish Olympic football team. He led them to win the gold medal at the Olympic Games held in Barcelona! This was a huge achievement for him and for Spain.
