Vicente Martín Sánchez Bragunde, born on December 7, 1979, is a famous former football player from Uruguay. He played as a winger, which means he played on the sides of the field.

Vicente Sánchez is known for being a top goal scorer for the Deportivo Toluca team. He also played for the Uruguayan national team. Today, he works as a manager for the Cruz Azul U23 team.

Playing for Football Clubs

Sánchez was born in Montevideo, the capital city of Uruguay. He started his career playing for different teams in Uruguay, like Sud América and Tacuarembó.

Time in Mexico and Germany

Later, he moved to Mexico to play for Deportivo Toluca. He played there for many years, from 2001 to 2007. After that, in 2008, he joined a German club called Schalke. He stayed in Germany for two seasons.

He then returned to Mexico to play for Club América. On August 1, 2010, he scored his first goal for Club América in a game against Chiapas.

Playing in the United States

Even though he often played as a substitute, Sánchez was a popular player for the Colorado Rapids. He was the team's second-highest scorer in 2015. However, the team decided not to keep him for the 2016 season. They wanted to bring in new players like Marco Pappa, Shkëlzen Gashi, Jermaine Jones, and Tim Howard.

Return to Uruguay and Another MLS Stint

After leaving the MLS, Sánchez went back to Uruguay. He joined his hometown club, Defensor Sporting, for the 2016 season. He helped them finish fourth, which meant they could play in the 2017 Copa Sudamericana tournament.

In 2017, Sánchez returned to the MLS again. This time, he joined the Houston Dynamo team. He helped the Dynamo reach the playoffs. He also made a game-winning assist in their first playoff game against Sporting Kansas City.
