How Victon Started
Before They Debuted
Some members, like Chan, Seungwoo, Seungsik, and Byungchan, joined A Cube Entertainment in 2014. They were among the first male trainees there. Hanse and Sejun joined a year later. Subin, who was a trainee at Cube Entertainment, joined last.
Before debuting, some members worked with other artists from their company. They were backup dancers for Apink at their 2015 concerts. They also sang backup for Huh Gak's album.
2016: Their First Steps and Debut
In August 2016, their company, Plan A Entertainment, shared news about a new group. They called them "Plan A Boys." The group had a TV show called Me & 7 Men. This show followed their journey as they got ready to debut. The first episode aired on August 30 on Mnet.
On September 1, Seungsik, Sejun, and Hanse released a song with Huh Gak. It was called "#Begin Again." A music video for the song showed all seven members.
After their TV show ended, the group's official debut was set for November 9. Plan A held a special showcase for them. They announced the group's name: Victon. This name stands for "Voice to a New World." On the same day, they released their first album, Voice to New World. It featured two main songs: "I'm Fine" and "What Time Is It Now?".
Victon's Music Journey
2017: More Albums Released
On March 2, 2017, Victon released their second album, Ready. The main song was "Eyez Eyez." Even though they were new, the members helped make the music. Hanse wrote all his rap parts. Chan and Seungwoo helped create the dances for "Eyez Eyez" and "Blank." "Eyez Eyez" is a futuresynth song. This album showed a more mature and strong side of the group.
Victon's third album, Identity, came out on August 23. It had five songs, including "Unbelievable." They also had a special show to celebrate the album's release.
Their fourth album, From. Victon, was released on their first anniversary, November 9. This album had six songs. The main song was "Remember Me."
2018: Street Performances and a Single Album
On February 18, 2018, Victon announced a special project. They would perform on the streets in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province for three weeks. They sang songs from their old albums. They also performed new songs, like "On My Way," sung by Hanse and Seungsik.
On May 23, Victon released their first single album, Time of Sorrow. This song became very popular in Japan. It topped the Tower Records chart there. This was special because the group had not even officially debuted in Japan yet. They had only performed at KCON Japan.
2019: TV Show and Comeback with Six Members
In early 2019, Seungwoo and Byungchan joined a TV show called Produce X 101. On July 11, Byungchan had to leave the show. He needed to recover from pain caused by a long-term leg problem. On July 19, Seungwoo finished third in the show. He became a member of a new boy group called X1.
Victon then came back as a group of six members on November 4. They released their fifth album, Nostalgia. The main song was "Nostalgic Night." This song helped them win their first music show award since they debuted.
2020: New Releases and Solo Work
On January 29, it was announced that Seungwoo would return to Victon. He had a solo fan meeting in February. The group then made a comeback in March. On March 9, Victon released their sixth album, Continuous. The main song was "Howling." This song won first place on The Show on March 17. It was the group's first win with all seven members. However, Byungchan had to sit out of some promotions due to a neck injury.
On June 2, the group released their second single album, Mayday. They won first place on The Show again on June 9 for "Mayday." This was their third win.
In August, Seungwoo released his first solo album, Fame. The main song was "Sacrifice." He was the first Victon member to have an official solo debut.
In October, Hanse said he was working on his own solo music.
On November 4, Victon announced their first full studio album. It was called Voice: The Future Is Now and was set for release on December 1. The main song was "What I Said." However, the album release was delayed. This happened because the members came into contact with someone who had COVID-19.
2021-Present: Voice The Future is Now and Seungwoo's Military Service
After the delay, the album was released on January 11, 2021. The group held a special show on Mnet to celebrate. The album included four solo songs, one for Seung-sik, Chan, Se-jun, and Han-se each.
In March, Hanse and Chan walked as models in Seoul Fashion Week. This was their second time modeling there.
It was announced that Seungwoo would start his mandatory military service on July 28. Before he left, he released his second solo album, Fade, on June 28. The main song was "See You Again."
