Victor Louis Goines, born on August 6, 1961, is a very talented jazz musician. He plays both the saxophone and the clarinet. Since September 2022, he has been the President and CEO of Jazz St. Louis, an organization that promotes jazz music. Before that, from 2000 to 2007, he was in charge of the jazz program at Juilliard, a famous music school.

Victor Goines' Musical Journey
Victor Goines grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana, a city well-known for its amazing jazz music. He went to St. Augustine High School there. Since 1993, he has been an important member of two very famous jazz groups: the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra and the Wynton Marsalis Septet.
Teaching and Leading
Besides performing, Victor Goines has also shared his musical knowledge with many students. From 2008 to 2022, he was a professor and director of jazz studies at Northwestern University's Bienen School of Music. In this role, he helped many young musicians learn about jazz. Now, as the head of Jazz St. Louis, he continues to help jazz music grow and reach more people.
