Viktoria Ihorivna Petryk, also known as Vika Petryk, is a talented singer and songwriter from Ukraine. She was born on May 21, 1997. Viktoria became well-known when she represented Ukraine at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2008. She sang the song "Matrosy" (which means "Sailors") and earned an impressive second place.
Viktoria started singing when she was only four years old. She has continued to sing and perform throughout her life. In 2014, she was a finalist in the competition to choose Ukraine's singer for the Eurovision Song Contest 2014. She came in second place with her song "Love Is Lord." She also competed in the selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 with her song "Overload."
In 2012, Viktoria's younger sister, Anastasiya Petryk, won the Junior Eurovision Song Contest for Ukraine. Anastasiya's winning song was "Nebo."
Viktoria's Early Life and Music
Viktoria Petryk was born in a village called Nerubaiske, near Odesa, Ukraine. Her journey in music began at a very young age. She quickly started participating in many singing competitions for children.
Viktoria has won several awards and diplomas for her performances. One of her first big wins was a Second Rank Diploma at the International Venok Chornomorya Art Festival in Odesa.
TV Shows and Competitions
In 2010, when Viktoria was 13 years old, she appeared on the TV show Ukraine’s Got Talent 2. She made it to the semi-final stage of the competition. She even performed alongside her younger sister, Anastasiya, who was eight at the time.
Later that year, Viktoria also won the 13–15 years age group at an international competition called "New Wave Junior." Her sister, Anastasiya, also won in the younger 8-12 age group at the same event.
In 2014, Viktoria competed in the "New Wave" festival held in Latvia. This festival is a popular international competition for young performers.
