Villadossola (called Vila d'Òssola in Piedmontese) is a town in northern Italy. It is a comune, which is like a municipality or local government area. You can find it in the Val d’Ossola valley, within the Province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola in the Piedmont region.
The town is about 120 kilometers (75 miles) northeast of Turin. It sits just south of Domodossola, near the Toce river. Villadossola is also at the entrance of the beautiful Valle Antrona, one of the seven smaller valleys that branch off the main Val d’Ossola.
In the past, Villadossola was a very important place for making iron, steel, and chemicals. These industries were a big part of the town's economy. Today, the town's economy focuses more on the service industry. This means jobs like shops, restaurants, and other services.
Many old factory buildings have been given new life. For example, the town's theater, called La Fabbrica (which means "The Factory"), is now located in a building that used to be a factory.
Villadossola shares its borders with several other towns. These include Beura-Cardezza, Borgomezzavalle, Domodossola, Montescheno, and Pallanzeno.
Town Connections: Sister Cities
Villadossola has a special connection with another town. This is called "town twinning" or being "sister cities." It helps towns learn from each other and build friendships.
