Vincent Marshall (born November 12, 1983) is an American college football coach and a former professional wide receiver. A wide receiver is a player who catches passes from the quarterback. Vincent Marshall is currently the wide receivers coach for Jackson State University, a role he started in 2024.

Before becoming a coach, Marshall played football professionally. He was a wide receiver in the Canadian Football League (CFL) for teams like the Saskatchewan Roughriders, Calgary Stampeders, and Winnipeg Blue Bombers. He also had a brief time with the Atlanta Falcons in the National Football League (NFL) in 2007. Marshall played his college football for the University of Houston.

Vincent Marshall's College Football Journey

Vincent Marshall played college football for the University of Houston from 2002 to 2006. He was a talented wide receiver for the team.

Achievements at Houston University

During his time at Houston, Marshall received several honors:

  • In 2004, he was named Second-Team All-C-USA. This means he was one of the best players in his conference.
  • In 2005, he was First-Team All-C-USA as a wide receiver. He also earned Third-Team All-C-USA as a punt returner. A punt returner catches punts and tries to run them back for yards.
  • In 2006, he again earned Second-Team All-C-USA.

Marshall finished his college career as a record-holder for the University of Houston. He caught more passes and gained more receiving yards than any other player in the school's history. He was also third all-time for touchdown catches.

Vincent Marshall's Professional Playing Career

After college, Vincent Marshall moved on to play professional football. He played in both the National Football League (NFL) and the Canadian Football League (CFL).

Playing for the Atlanta Falcons

He joined the team as an undrafted free agent, meaning he wasn't picked in the draft but was still signed by a team. He was with the Falcons for a short time before being released in September 2007.

Playing in the Canadian Football League

Marshall then moved to the Canadian Football League (CFL). The CFL is a professional football league in Canada with slightly different rules than the NFL.

Saskatchewan Roughriders

In 2007, Marshall signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders. He was part of the team that won the 95th Grey Cup championship that year. The Grey Cup is the championship trophy of the CFL, similar to the Super Bowl in the NFL.
