In 1990, Vincent Waller joined the team at Spümcø to work on The Ren & Stimpy Show. He was a key storyboard artist and layout artist during the first season. These roles involve drawing out the scenes and planning how they will look. The next year, he became a director, leading two episodes for the second season. He left the show in 1992 but continued to work with the creator, John Kricfalusi, on other projects. This included directing an episode for the adult version of Ren and Stimpy in 2003.

Waller also created and directed short cartoons for Fred Seibert's Oh Yeah! Cartoons. He helped create What is Funny?, which featured a character named Slap T. Pooch.
