Vinessa Lynn Antoine is a talented actress from Canada. She is famous for her roles in several TV shows. You might know her as Judith Winters from the CBC show Being Erica. Early Life and Training
Vinessa Antoine grew up in Toronto, Ontario, with her parents and younger brother. She started learning classical ballet when she was only four years old. When she was 18, she was recognized as a top performer at the 1995 Black Achiever Awards. This led her to spend a year at the ballet company of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater.
She also toured with the famous musician P. Diddy for six months. During her last year at Ailey, Vinessa decided to focus on acting. Her family background includes Trinidadian and Middle Eastern heritage.

Vinessa Antoine began her acting journey in films and television. Her first movie role was in the 1999 drama Picture This. From 2001 to 2002, she had a repeating role in the TV show Soul Food. She also appeared as a guest star in shows like The Unit and ReGenesis.

Vinessa had important roles in several TV series. She played Evidence "Evi" Ryan in Haven in 2011. She was also Nicole in Heartland from 2008 to 2014. From 2009 to 2011, she was a regular cast member on the CBC comedy-drama Being Erica, playing Judith Winters.

In 2019, Vinessa Antoine made history. She became the first Black Canadian woman to lead a Canadian drama series. This was for her role as lawyer Marcie Diggs in the CBC drama Diggstown.
Her performance in Diggstown earned her nominations for Best Actress in a Drama Series at the 9th Canadian Screen Awards in 2021 and the 10th Canadian Screen Awards in 2022. The show finished in 2022 after four seasons.
Recent Projects
After Diggstown, Vinessa continued to work on exciting projects. In 2023, she had a recurring role in the Netflix comedy-drama series Ginny & Georgia. She also starred alongside Amanda Seyfried in the drama film Seven Veils, directed by Atom Egoyan. This movie premiered at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival.
Vinessa also co-starred in a climate change thriller film called All the Lost Ones. In 2024, she starred in the CBC time-travel drama series Plan B. She also had a recurring role in Grey's Anatomy.
