History of Vining
Vining was officially planned and laid out in 1882. This process is called being "platted." A post office opened in Vining in the same year.
The city officially became a town (or "incorporated") in 1909. This meant it could have its own local government.
Nyberg Park: Art from Scrap Metal
One of Vining's most interesting places is Nyberg Park. It is located on Front Street. This park is special because it displays many sculptures made from scrap metal.
These amazing artworks were created by a local resident named Ken Nyberg. His sculptures turn old metal into fun and surprising art pieces.
