Virgin is a small town in Washington County, Utah, United States. It is located along the Virgin River, which is how it got its name. The town is also close to the beautiful Zion National Park.
The first people settled in Virgin in 1858. In 2010, about 596 people lived there. The town is located at an elevation of about 3,606 feet (1,099 meters) above sea level. You can find Virgin along State Route 9.

Interesting Town Laws
In May 2000, Virgin passed a unique law. This law requires every homeowner in the town to own and keep a firearm. This rule was mentioned in the 2002 film Bowling for Columbine by Michael Moore.
However, there are some exceptions to this law. People who are mentally ill, those with certain criminal records, and individuals who have strong moral objections do not have to own a gun. Also, people who cannot afford to buy a gun are exempt. Another town, Kennesaw, Georgia, had a similar law before Virgin.
