The Vit Ice Glacier (also known as Vit Ice Piedmont) is a large sheet of ice found in Antarctica. It stretches about 12 kilometers (7.5 miles) from north to south and 6 kilometers (3.7 miles) from east to west.

This glacier is located in the Sostra Heights, which is on the eastern side of the northern Sentinel Range. The Sentinel Range is part of the larger Ellsworth Mountains in Antarctica.

Vit Ice Glacier is positioned near several other important ice features. It lies north of the end of Embree Glacier and east of Bracken Peak. To its southwest is Anchialus Glacier, and it's south of the end of Newcomer Glacier. The glacier flows eastward, eventually joining the Rutford Ice Stream, which is like a fast-moving river of ice.

Where Did the Name Come From?

The Vit Ice Glacier is named after the Vit River, which is a river located in Northern Bulgaria. This naming honors the connection between Bulgaria and its research in Antarctica.
