Where is Viví Abajo?
Viví Abajo is found in Utuado, Puerto Rico. It's located north of another neighborhood called Viví Arriba. This area is about 627 feet (191 meters) above sea level. The total size of Viví Abajo is about 5.75 square miles (14.9 square kilometers).
A Look at Viví Abajo's Past
After the Spanish–American War, Spain gave Puerto Rico to the United States. This happened because of a deal called the Treaty of Paris of 1898. Puerto Rico then became a territory of the United States.
In 1899, the United States government counted all the people living in Puerto Rico. This count is called a census. The census showed that 1,253 people lived in Viví Abajo at that time.

Hurricane Maria's Impact
On September 20, 2017, Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico. Viví Abajo was greatly affected by this strong storm. Many roads and homes in the area were damaged.
