NBA Career Highlights
Vladimir Radmanović joined the NBA in 2001.
Seattle SuperSonics Years
The Seattle SuperSonics chose Radmanović as the 12th pick in the 2001 NBA draft. He quickly became an important player. In the 2003–04 season, he scored about 12 points and grabbed 5.3 rebounds per game. He was known for being a great three-point shooter, which was unusual for a tall player like him.
He helped the Sonics do well in the 2004–05 season. He averaged 11.8 points and 4.6 rebounds. He also helped them win their first playoff series. On January 26, 2005, he made 8 three-pointers in one game. This was his personal best.
After the 2004–05 season, he decided not to sign a long-term deal with the Sonics. He chose a one-year contract instead. Fans and announcers sometimes called him "Broadway Joe."
Moving to the Los Angeles Clippers
On February 14, 2006, Radmanović was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers. He moved from the SuperSonics in exchange for Chris Wilcox.
Playing for the Clippers helped his game a lot. He scored 10.7 points per game. He also had his best averages for rebounds (5.7) and assists (2.1). He continued to shoot well from the three-point line.
Time with the Los Angeles Lakers
On July 13, 2006, Radmanović signed with the Los Angeles Lakers. He was promised a starting spot on the team. Famous players like Kobe Bryant and Vlade Divac helped convince him to join. They believed his shooting skills would be a great fit for the Lakers' style of play.
He started many games for the Lakers, especially in the 2007–08 playoffs. He was often a top scorer or rebounder in those games.
Injury Incident
In February 2007, Radmanović injured his shoulder. He had been snowboarding in Park City, Utah. This was against his contract with the Lakers, which did not allow risky activities. Because he broke a team rule, he had to pay a large fine.
