Wakeman is a small village located in Huron County, Ohio, United States. It sits right along the Vermilion River.
The village was named after Jesup Wakeman. He was an early settler from Fairfield County, Connecticut. Jesup Wakeman was involved in buying and selling land in the western parts of the country between 1800 and 1840.
