Wallpack Center (also called Walpack Center) is a small, quiet community in New Jersey. It's located in Walpack Township, which is part of Sussex County. This area is in the Flat Brook Valley, about 6.7 miles (10.8 km) west of Branchville.

Wallpack Center has its own post office with the ZIP Code 07881. Today, it is part of the beautiful Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area.

A Look at Wallpack Center's Past

Wallpack Center started as a farming community in the mid-1800s. It was a place where local farmers could get the services they needed. Because the community was quite isolated, it mostly served farms in its own valley. It was hard for farmers to travel to other towns for supplies.

As time went on, especially in the 1900s, Wallpack Center became less busy. Larger towns nearby grew and could serve more farms. This meant Wallpack Center was no longer the main service hub.

Today, the community is much smaller. It still has its post office and a church. There's also an old school building, now used for storage, and six houses.
