Walls is a small town in northern DeSoto County, Mississippi, United States. It is located close to the Mississippi River. This area is part of a larger region called "The Delta". The soil here is very rich and dark.
Walls is in the northwest corner of Mississippi. It is also part of the larger Memphis, Tennessee metropolitan area. Its ZIP code is 38680. In 2010, about 1,162 people lived here. By 2018, the population was estimated to be around 1,463.

History of Walls
Walls is a fairly new community. It was first called "Alpika," which is a word from the Chickasaw people. The name was changed to Walls in 1906.
The town was named after Captain June Walls. He was a soldier in the Civil War. Captain Walls was one of the first settlers and a merchant in the area in the 1880s.
An old village site from the Mississippian culture is near Walls. This site is called the Walls Site. It gives its name to the Walls phase. This was the last major culture in the area before Europeans arrived. The famous explorer Hernando de Soto traveled through DeSoto County, near Walls.
Today, farming is very important in Walls. Farmers plant crops like cotton, soybeans, rice, and corn every spring. The railroad helped the area grow a lot in the early to mid-1900s. But new machines in the 1950s and 1960s changed Walls, just like many other Delta towns.
The Sacred Heart League is an important part of the community. They run the Sacred Heart School in Walls. This group raised money by selling a famous statue of Jesus Christ. In the 1960s, you could find this statue on car dashboards all over America.
Walls has been a community since the early 1900s. It was connected to a tiny village called Memphis. This village became an official town in the early 1970s. It was just south of Walls. In 2003 and 2004, the village of Memphis joined Walls. This made Walls an official town.

Leatherman Development Projects
The Leatherman family has started building new industrial, commercial, and housing projects in Walls. The first industrial business, Sigma Supply Co., moved into a large building. This building is about 254,000-square-foot (23,600 m2). It is located off U.S. Highway 61 and Star Landing Road. Sigma Supply sells industrial and packaging equipment.
The Leatherman Planned Unit Development is a big project. It covers about 1,900-acre (7.7 km2) in Walls. A new elementary school opened here in August 2008. It has 900 students. Lake Cormorant Middle School has 700 students. Lake Cormorant High School opened in 2011.
