Walnut is a village located in Bureau County, Illinois, United States. People from Walnut are sometimes called "Walnutions."

In 2020, the village had a population of 1,311. This was a bit less than the 1,416 people counted in 2010. Walnut is part of the Ottawa Micropolitan Statistical Area. The village officially became a village on October 26, 1876.
