Washburn is a small town located in Aroostook County, Maine, in the United States. It became an official town on February 25, 1861. The town was named after Israel Washburn, who was the governor of Maine at that time. In 2020, about 1,527 people lived in Washburn.
One interesting fact is that the Benjamin C. Wilder House was built in 1852. This means it was standing nine years before Washburn even became a town! You can find this historic house on Main Street.
