Waskom is a city in the state of Texas, in the United States. In 2020, about 1,910 people lived there. This was a bit less than the 2,160 people who lived there in 2010.
Waskom is in Harrison County. It is about 19 miles (31 km) east of Marshall, which is the main city of the county. Waskom is located along U.S. 80 and Interstate 20. It is part of the larger Marshall area, which is also connected to the Longview–Marshall combined statistical area. This region is known as the Ark-La-Tex, because it's where Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas meet. To the east of Waskom are the cities of Greenwood and Shreveport, Louisiana.

History of Waskom
Waskom started in 1850. It was a useful stop for people traveling between Dallas and Shreveport. They moved cattle and cotton along this route to the Red River in Louisiana.
In 1872, Waskom became an important train station. It was a key point on the railroad connecting Dallas, Shreveport, and Texarkana. Even today, a major train line still runs through Waskom.
Now, Waskom is on I-20. This big highway connects states like the Carolinas to places in southwest Texas and Mexico. Waskom's high school football team won the 3A D2 state championship in both 2014 and 2015.
