Weetos is a popular chocolate-flavored breakfast cereal. It is made by the Weetabix Food Company. The name "Weetos" comes from its main ingredient, wheat. The cereal pieces are shaped like the letter O. This is similar to how the company's other famous cereal, Weetabix, got its name (Wheat Biscuits).
Weetos started with just one type of cereal, called Weetos Chocolate Flavour. Over time, the brand grew. Now, it also includes Weetos Meteors, Weetos Bars, and Weetos Vs. Alien Invasion.

The Story of Weetos
Weetos is the only cereal from the Weetabix Food Company made just for kids and teens. Because of this, it has a fun history with different characters called mascots.
The first mascot appeared in 1987. He was a skateboarder named Derek. Derek thought life was boring until he tried Weetos.
In 1992, a new mascot arrived: Professor Weeto. He was an older gentleman who looked like a scientist. He wore a white lab coat. His glasses were even made from two Weetos pieces! Professor Weeto was shown as the person who created the cereal. He also advertised it all by himself.
In 2010, Professor Weeto was replaced. The new mascot was The Weeto. This character was a strong Weeto piece with arms and legs. He would do anything to get into the cereal box for kids.
Around 2006, the Weetabix Food Company made a change. They lowered the amount of sugar in Weetos by more than 35%. This was to make the cereal healthier for kids. Because of this change, the flavor was a bit different. They also stopped using Professor Weeto in ads. Instead, they showed pictures of children playing different sports.

Weetos Chocolate Flavour
This is the original Weetos cereal. It comes in a brown box. The box usually shows the Weetos logo. It also advertises any toy that might be inside.
The main ingredients include wholegrain wheat (41%). Other ingredients are wheat flour, sugars, cocoa powder, and vegetable oil. It also contains milk powder and important vitamins and minerals.
Weetos Meteors
Weetos Meteors were launched in 2008. This cereal has a fun space theme. It mixes the classic O-shaped Weetos pieces. It also includes star and meteor-shaped pieces. This cereal is advertised directly to children. This is because it is not high in fat, salt, and sugar (HFSS). This means it meets health guidelines for food products.
Weetos vs. Alien Invaders
This version of Weetos came out in 2011. It has the original O-shaped pieces. But it also includes three special ring-shaped alien pieces.
Weetos Bar
Weetos is also available as a cereal bar. These bars are 20 grams each. They are soft and chewy. They are made with chocolate-flavored wheat hoops. Each bar has a layer of milk chocolate on the bottom. They are wrapped individually, making them easy to take on the go.
