The Wellmont Theater is a cool place in Montclair, New Jersey, United States. It's a popular spot for concerts and live shows. You can find it right in the middle of downtown Montclair, close to a town called Glen Ridge.
A Look Back: The Wellmont's Story
The Wellmont Theater first opened its doors in 1922. Back then, it was a place for live entertainment. A few years later, in 1929, it changed and started showing movies instead.
Modern Updates and New Shows
In 2008, the theater got a big makeover. A company called The Bowery Presents spent $3 million to update it. They added new electrical systems and plumbing. They also put in new snack bars on different levels.
In 2013, another company, Live Nation, took over the shows. The theater was carefully updated again. Since then, many famous artists have performed there. Some of these include Steely Dan, B.B. King, Cheap Trick, Fetty Wap, Ms. Lauryn Hill, and DNCE.

The Wellmont Theater is also an important place for the yearly Montclair Film Festival. This festival brings many movies and movie lovers to Montclair.
