History of Wells

Wells was established in 1869. The city got its name from J.W. Wells, who was the father-in-law of a notable person named Clark W. Thompson.

One important building in Wells is the former Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Depot and Lunchroom. This building is so special that it's listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This means it's recognized for its historical importance and is protected.

The city is easy to get to because of its main roads. Highway 22 and Highway 109 are the main routes that run through Wells. If you're traveling on Interstate 90, you'll find Wells just six miles south of it on Highway 22.
