Wendy Schaal (born July 2, 1954) is an American actress. She is well-known for her roles in movies directed by Joe Dante. These include Innerspace, The 'Burbs, and Small Soldiers.
Wendy Schaal has also appeared in other films like Where the Boys Are '84 and Creature. In the 1980s, she had many guest roles on TV shows. A famous one was Marilyn Kelsy in Airwolf. Since 2005, she has mostly done voice acting. Her most famous voice role is Francine Smith in the animated TV show American Dad!.

Early Life and Education
Wendy Schaal was born in Chicago, Illinois. Her mother was Lois Schaal and her father was actor Richard Schaal. For her first five years, Wendy lived with her parents in Crete, Illinois. After her parents divorced, she moved with her mother to Newport Beach, California.
When she was nine, Wendy studied acting in Chicago. She later moved to Wisconsin and then to California at age 11. At 14, she visited her father and stepmother, actress Valerie Harper, in New York. Soon after, they all moved to Hollywood.
Wendy earned an Associate of Arts degree from Los Angeles City College. There, she studied acting and also worked on building sets for plays. After taking an acting class taught by her father, she began to get roles on television.
Acting Career

Wendy Schaal started her TV career with roles on shows like Fish and Little House on the Prairie. She also appeared in Phyllis, Rhoda, and Welcome Back, Kotter.
In 1981, Wendy joined the cast of the ABC show Fantasy Island. She played Julie, who was the niece of the main character, Mr. Roarke. She also played Bonnie Hornback in AfterMASH and Debbie Pepper in Good Grief. Other roles included Vickie Allen in It's a Living and Liz Dooley in Nearly Departed. Today, she is best known as the voice of Francine Smith in American Dad!.
Personal Life
Wendy Schaal married Stephen M. Schwartz on September 4, 1977. They later divorced in October 1987. They have one son together.
