Who is Wendy Shay?
Wendy Shay was born on February 20, 1996, in Accra, which is a big city in Ghana. Her parents were Mr. and Mrs. Addo. When Wendy was four years old, her father passed away. After this sad event, she and her three brothers and sisters moved to Stuttgart, Germany.
Wendy's School Days
Before moving to Germany, Wendy went to Morning Star School and St Martin de Porres in Accra. In Germany, she continued her education from grade 7. She also went to a special music school in Bernhausen, Germany, where she learned more about music.
Wendy Shay's Music Journey
Before becoming a singer, Wendy Shay was a trained nurse. She even worked as a midwife, helping people in hospitals. But her love for music started when she was very young, at just four years old. She decided to follow her dream of becoming a musician.
How Wendy Started Singing
In 2018, Wendy Shay met Bullet, who manages a music company called RuffTown Records. She signed with them in January 2018. Her first song, "Uber Driver," came out on June 1, 2018. The song was produced by MOG Beatz and became very popular.
A Special Title for Wendy
Wendy Shay was given a special honor in Gomoa Afransi, a place in the Central Region (Ghana) of Ghana. She was made the Ahenemba Hemaa, which means "Queen Mother of Youth." Her special name for this title is Queen Ewurabena Ofosuhemaa Shay 1.
Wendy Shay as a Brand Ambassador
Wendy Shay is also a brand ambassador for the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) in Ghana. This means she helps promote their work. There were some rumors that she was no longer the ambassador, but it was later confirmed that she still holds this important role.
