Wes Felton (also known as W. Ellington Felton or Dub Ell) is an American singer, poet, actor, and emcee. He was born and grew up in Washington D.C.

Wes Felton grew up in a very musical family. His father, Hilton C. Felton, was a jazz pianist. He played with famous musicians like George Benson and Grant Green. Wes also has a son named Tobias.

His Musical Journey

Wes Felton started his music career by performing at many open mic nights. When he was a teenager, he even performed on the Lollapalooza tour. He also got to perform at the famous Apollo Theater.

Ellington has shared the stage with many well-known artists. These include Mos Def, De La Soul, and Meshell Ndegeocello. He also worked with his mentor, the UK Soul legend Omar. Complex Magazine once called him "the future folk-soul hero." This was for his singing on Prince Paul’s album, Politics of the Business.

Teamwork in Music

Wes Felton has worked with other artists on special projects. He teamed up with JLaine and TFox to form a group called Antithesis. They have released two albums with Tasteful Licks Records.

Wes Felton also works with Raheem DeVaughn. Together, they are known as The Crossrhodes.

Acting Career

Wes Felton studied theater for four years. He went to Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh.

In 1999, he starred in a popular hip-hop play called Rhyme Deferred. This play was performed at important places like the Kennedy Center. Ellington also had a role in a movie called Multitudes of Mercies. This movie was shown on BET around the world in 2005. His most recent film is Babylon Central, which he made with Thievery Corporation.

Wes Felton started writing when he was 13 years old. So far, he has published two books of poetry.
