Where is West Union Located?
West Union is found in South Carolina. It sits along South Carolina Highway 11. The town is mostly northeast of where Highway 11 crosses South Carolina Highway 28.
The larger city of Walhalla is right next to West Union on its western side. Also, Lake Keowee is only a few miles to the east. The town covers a total area of about 0.8 square miles (2.0 square kilometers). All of this area is land.

West Union has an interesting history. In 2002, Dorothy “Dot” Gibson became the town's first female mayor. She served until 2004. Before becoming mayor, she was a town council member for a long time. Dorothy Gibson passed away in 2022.
