Whitesville is a small city located in Daviess County, Kentucky, in the United States. In 2020, about 580 people lived there. It's part of the larger Owensboro area. Dr. William White founded the city in 1844, and it was named after him. Patsy Mayfield is the current mayor of Whitesville.

Whitesville is in the southeastern part of Daviess County. A main road, Kentucky Route 54, goes right through the middle of the town. This road can take you about 15 miles northwest to Owensboro, which is the main city of the county. If you go southeast, it's about 39 miles to Leitchfield.

Fun Things to Do
Kentucky Motor Speedway
Whitesville is home to the Kentucky Motor Speedway. This is a special race track that is 3/8 of a mile long. It was built in 1960. In 1981, they added a unique "figure 8" track inside the main oval.
Many famous NASCAR racers started their careers here. These include Darrell Waltrip, Michael Waltrip, and Jeremy Mayfield. The track was closed for a few years but reopened in 2009. It was also closed in 2022 and 2023.
Famous People from Whitesville
- Private David P. Nash was a brave soldier. He received the Medal of Honor for his service during the Vietnam War.
