William Mellor (born 3 April 1976) is a well-known English actor and singer. He has starred in many popular TV shows. You might know him as Jambo Bolton from Hollyoaks, Gaz Wilkinson in Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps, or Harvey Gaskell in Coronation Street. He also played Steve Connolly in Broadchurch and Ollie Curry in White Van Man. In 2024, he appeared in the important ITV drama Mr Bates vs The Post Office.

Will Mellor's Acting Journey
Will Mellor started acting when he was young. His first big role was in 1990 as Ben Rowlingson in the children's show Children's Ward. In 1992, he appeared in Brookside.
Becoming a Soap Star
In 1995, Will joined the cast of the popular soap opera Hollyoaks. He played the character James "Jambo" Bolton until 1998. He even made a special return as Jambo for a Christmas episode later on.
Music and Other Roles
Besides acting, Will also tried singing! He released a cover of Leo Sayer's song "When I Need You", which became a big hit, reaching number 5 in the UK music charts. He also released another song called "No Matter What I Do". Will even appeared in a music video for the band Boyzone.
After Hollyoaks, Will continued to act in many different shows. He played Jack Vincent in Casualty from 2001 to 2003. He also starred as Gaz Wilkinson in the comedy series Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps for many years, from 2001 to 2011.
In 2003, Will showed off his singing skills again and won the BBC singing competition Comic Relief Does Fame Academy. He also voiced Georgie the dog in the CITV series Barking! from 2004 to 2006. In 2007, he had a role in EastEnders as Warren Stamp.

Will Mellor has played many different types of characters. In 2008, he was a guest star in the fantasy drama Merlin, where he played the villain Knight Valiant. He also appeared in the BBC Three comedy White Van Man and the drama Waterloo Road in 2011.
From 2011 to 2012, he played Liam Flynn in the BBC One comedy series In with the Flynns. In 2013, he took on a more serious role as Steve Connolly in the ITV detective drama Broadchurch. He also appeared in the BBC One drama In the Club from 2014 to 2016.
Recent TV Appearances
In 2021, Will Mellor joined the cast of Coronation Street as the character Harvey Gaskell. He was on the show for a couple of years.
In 2022, Will showed off his dancing moves as a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing. He was partnered with professional dancer Nancy Xu. They danced their way to the semi-finals, finishing in fifth place!
In 2024, Will played Lee Castleton in the ITV drama Mr Bates vs The Post Office. This show was about a big mistake that happened at the Post Office. Will spoke about how he felt the Post Office CEO didn't show enough kindness during the scandal.
Will Mellor's Life Outside Acting
Will Mellor is married to Michelle McSween, who is a dancer. They met in 1999 when they were both in a musical called Oh, What a Night. They got married in 2007 and have two children together.
Will has also spoken about facing personal challenges. In 2020, his father passed away. On Strictly Come Dancing in 2022, Will performed a special dance as a tribute to his dad.
