Sir William Hynde (born around 1558 – died 1606) was an English politician from Madingley, Cambridgeshire. He lived during the time of Queen Elizabeth I and King James I. A politician helps make laws and govern a country.

Early Life and Education

William Hynde was the oldest son of Francis Hynde, who was also a Member of Parliament (MP). William went to Queens' College, Cambridge for his studies. After that, he continued his education at Gray's Inn in 1577. This was a place where people learned about law.

When his father passed away in 1596, William inherited his family's lands and properties. In 1603, he was given the special title of 'Sir', meaning he was knighted.

Political Career and Public Service

Sir William Hynde became a Member (MP) himself. He represented Cambridgeshire in the Parliament of England in 1597. Being an MP meant he helped make important decisions for the country.

He also served as a Justice of the Peace for Cambridgeshire. This role involved helping to keep law and order in the local area. From 1600 to 1601, he was the High Sheriff of Cambridgeshire and Huntingdonshire. The High Sheriff was a very important local official, responsible for enforcing laws and managing elections.

Later Life and Family

Sir William Hynde passed away in 1606 and was buried in Madingley. He was married two times. His first wife was Elizabeth, the daughter of Thomas, 2nd Lord Wentworth. His second wife was also named Elizabeth. She was the daughter of William Lawrence and the widow of John Hutton. Sir William Hynde did not have any children.
