Albert William Upton (born July 15, 1960), known professionally as Willie Aames, is an American actor, director, and producer. He became famous for his roles in popular TV shows like Eight Is Enough and Charles in Charge. He also played the main character in the Christian superhero series Bibleman.

Early Life and School
Willie Aames was born in Newport Beach, California, in 1960. When he was growing up, he went to Edison High School in Huntington Beach, California. He was very involved in music there, joining both the school choir and a special singing group called the Madrigal Ensemble.

Early TV Roles
Some of his first roles were in shows like Gunsmoke, The Wonderful World of Disney, and Adam-12. In 1971, he played Leonard Unger in the TV series The Odd Couple. The next year, he used his voice for the character of Jamie Boyle in the cartoon series Wait Till Your Father Gets Home. He also appeared in an episode of The Waltons. In 1974, he played a young Benjamin Franklin in a TV miniseries about the famous American.
Becoming a TV Star
In 1977, Willie Aames got a big role as Tommy Bradford in the popular comedy-drama Eight Is Enough. In this show, he played one of the children of Tom Bradford, who was played by Dick Van Patten. While working on Eight Is Enough, Willie Aames was also the lead singer and guitarist in his own band called Willie Aames & Paradise. His first movie role was in Scavenger Hunt.
After Eight Is Enough ended in 1981, Aames acted in more movies. He starred with Scott Baio in Zapped! and with Phoebe Cates in the movie Paradise.
More Famous Roles
From 1984 to 1990, Willie Aames played Buddy Lembeck in the sitcom Charles in Charge. In this show, he was the best friend of the main character, Charles, played by Scott Baio. Before that, he was the voice of Hank the Ranger in the cartoon series Dungeons & Dragons from 1983 to 1985. After Charles in Charge, he hosted a game show called The Krypton Factor.
From 1995 to 2003, Aames starred as Bibleman in a series of Christian superhero videos.
Later Career
Around 2010, Willie Aames started working as a cruise director for different cruise lines, like Regent Seven Seas Cruises. He returned to acting in 2016 and has appeared in several TV movies and shows since then.
Personal Life
Willie Aames is a Christian. He has been married three times and has two children. He first married Vicki Weatherman in 1979, and they had a child named Christopher. He then married Maylo McCaslin in 1986, and they had a child named Harleigh Jean. In 2014, he married Winnie Hung.
