Willie Aames was born in Newport Beach, California, in 1960. When he was in high school in Huntington Beach, California, he enjoyed singing. He was part of the school choir and a special singing group called the Madrigal Ensemble.

Willie Aames started acting when he was a child in the late 1960s. He appeared in popular TV shows like Gunsmoke, The Wonderful World of Disney, and Adam-12.
Early TV Roles
In 1971, he played Leonard Unger in the TV series The Odd Couple. The next year, he used his voice for the character Jamie Boyle in the cartoon series Wait Till Your Father Gets Home. He also appeared as a guest star on The Waltons. In 1974, he played a young Benjamin Franklin in a TV miniseries about his life. The following year, he co-starred in the series Swiss Family Robinson.
Becoming a Teen Star
In 1977, Willie Aames got a big role as Tommy Bradford in the comedy-drama Eight Is Enough. This show made him very famous. While working on the show, he was also the lead singer and guitarist in his own band called Willie Aames & Paradise.
After Eight Is Enough ended in 1981, Aames acted in movies. He appeared in Zapped! with Scott Baio and Paradise with Phoebe Cates.
Later Roles and Voice Acting
From 1984 to 1990, Willie Aames played Buddy Lembeck in the sitcom Charles in Charge. Before that, he was Robbie Hamlin on the soap opera The Edge of Night. He also lent his voice to the character Hank the Ranger in the cartoon Dungeons & Dragons from 1983 to 1985.
From 1995 to 2003, Aames starred as Bibleman in a series of Christian superhero videos.
