Willingdon is a small community called a hamlet in Alberta, Canada. It's found in the middle part of Alberta, inside the County of Two Hills No. 21. Willingdon is about 117 kilometers (73 miles) northeast of Edmonton, which is Alberta's main city.
Willingdon's History
Willingdon started out as a village on August 31, 1928. After 89 years, on September 1, 2017, it changed from being a village. It became a hamlet, which means it is now managed by the County of Two Hills No. 21.
In 1985, something special happened in Willingdon. One of the very last traditional wooden grain elevators in Alberta was built there. This was done by the Alberta Wheat Pool. Grain elevators are tall buildings used to store grain.
