Dafoe: A Historic Sawmill Town
Dafoe was once a small community built around a sawmill. A sawmill is a place where logs are cut into lumber. It also had a train station on the Detroit & Mackinaw Railroad, which helped transport the lumber.
Herron: A Community with a Past
Herron is another small community in the township. It was started in 1920 by a person named Fred Herron, and the community was named after him. A post office was opened in Herron in the same year.
