Woodcreek is found in the western part of Hays County. It is about 2 miles (3.2 km) north of Wimberley. The city is also about 34 miles (55 km) southwest of Austin. It is 60 miles (97 km) northeast of San Antonio.
The city covers a total area of about 1.09 square miles (2.8 square kilometers). All of this area is land. A stream called Cypress Creek forms the western edge of the city. Cypress Creek flows into the Blanco River.
