Woolgarlo is a small place in New South Wales, Australia. It is located right by the water's edge of Lake Burrinjuck. This lake is actually a large dam, and Woolgarlo sits on one of its "arms" where the Yass River flows in.

Woolgarlo is found in a beautiful part of New South Wales. If you travel by road, it's about 15 kilometers (about 9 miles) northeast of a place called Burrinjuck. It's also about 17 kilometers (about 10.5 miles) southeast of Bookham.

What is Woolgarlo known for?

Woolgarlo is mostly known for its connection to Lake Burrinjuck. In the 1960s, a large property in Woolgarlo was turned into a special park. This park was for people who loved to go camping and caravanning.

Fun on the Water

A Name Change

In the 1980s, the caravan park got a new name: Lake Burrinjuck Leisure Resort. Even with the new name, many local people still call it Woolgarlo. It's a name that has stuck around!
