History and Villages
The Wuustwezel municipality you see today was formed in 1977. This happened when Wuustwezel joined together with another municipality called Loenhout.
Now, Wuustwezel includes three main villages: Wuustwezel itself, Gooreind, and Loenhout. There are also two smaller areas, or hamlets, named Braken and Sterbos.
Fun Events
Wuustwezel hosts some exciting events! One is the Azencross Loenhout. This is a special bicycle race called a cyclo-cross competition. It happens every December and is part of a big racing series.
Another amazing event is the largest bloemencorso (flower parade) in Belgium. This parade takes place in Loenhout. Different villages and hamlets in the area create huge floats covered in beautiful flowers. They all compete to see who can make the most stunning flower creations!
