Xavier Omon (born February 15, 1985) is a former American football player. He played as a running back in the National Football League (NFL). The Buffalo Bills picked him in the sixth round of the 2008 NFL draft. He played college football at Northwest Missouri State.
Omon was also a member of the Seattle Seahawks, New York Jets, San Francisco 49ers, Cleveland Browns, and Denver Broncos.

Early Life and Family Connections
Xavier Omon was born in San Diego, California. He went to Beatrice High School in Beatrice, Nebraska. During his sophomore year, he told friends he would someday be an NFL running back.
In 2010, Xavier found out he had a half-brother, Ogemdi Nwagbuo. Ogemdi was also an NFL player. He played as a defensive tackle for the San Diego Chargers. The brothers met for the first time in 2011. This happened during warm-ups before a game between their teams. Xavier also met Ogemdi's other siblings, Gerald and Darlene. Darlene played volleyball for Boise State.
College Football Star
Xavier Omon played college football at Northwest Missouri State. He was a very successful running back there. He set many records and earned several awards.
Freshman Year Highlights
In 2004, his first year, Omon rushed for 1,575 yards. He scored 19 touchdowns. He averaged 6.3 yards every time he carried the ball. He ran for over 100 yards in seven games. This included six games in a row.
Omon had two games where he rushed for over 200 yards. He gained 221 yards against Central Missouri State. He also ran for 160 yards against Pittsburg State. His 91-yard touchdown run tied a school record. He was the first freshman at Northwest to rush for over 1,000 yards in a season. His 120 points tied for the most by a non-kicker in school history.
Sophomore Year Success
In 2005, his second year, Omon rushed for 1,643 yards. He scored 14 touchdowns. He averaged 7.8 yards per carry. He helped his team reach the D2 national title game. They lost that game 21-17.
Omon had five straight games with over 100 rushing yards. He averaged 168.6 yards per game during this time. He injured his ankle, which kept him out for two weeks. When he returned, he had three runs over 60 yards. One was a 70-yard run against Washburn. He scored three times against Pittsburg State. In the postseason, he rushed for a career-high 225 yards.
Playing in the NFL

Buffalo Bills
Omon made the Buffalo Bills' main roster in 2008. He was the team's third-string running back. He had limited playing time that season. He carried the ball 6 times for 5 yards. In 2009, he had 5 carries for 22 yards. The Bills then waived him in November.
Seattle Seahawks
The Seattle Seahawks signed Omon to their practice squad in November 2009. After his contract ended, they re-signed him in January 2010. He was waived by the Seahawks in April 2010.
New York Jets
On September 29, 2010, the New York Jets signed Omon. He joined their practice squad. However, the Jets released him from their practice squad in October.
San Francisco 49ers
Omon joined the San Francisco 49ers practice squad in December 2010. He signed a contract for the 2011 season in January 2011. After training camp and preseason games, the 49ers released him. The next day, they signed him back to their practice squad. He was released from the practice squad again in September 2011.
Cleveland Browns
The Cleveland Browns signed Omon to their practice squad. This happened on September 14, 2011.
Denver Broncos
The Denver Broncos signed Omon to their practice squad in November 2011. In the 2012 NFL Preseason, he rushed for 36 yards and scored a touchdown. He was waived by the Broncos in August 2012.
