Catchy Theme Song
The show's theme song is a special version of the 1958 song Yakety Yak by The Coasters. In the TV show's version, children and some of the voice actors sing parts of the song.
Meet the Characters
- Yakkity Yak (Lee Tockar): Yakkity is a 12-year-old yak who goes to Onion Falls Junior High School. He is also the school's mascot. His big dream is to become a famous comedian. Yakkity works as the mascot because his grandfather was also the mascot when the football team won a big championship in 1925. Even though the team hasn't won since then, they get all the praise, which Yakkity doesn't like. Yakkity lives with his Granny and a scientist named Professor Crazyhair. His parents are never seen or talked about in the show.
- Keo (Brian Drummond): Keo is a very smart pineapple who is actually a human with a pineapple for a head. He gets nervous when he has to be on camera or perform in front of people. He sometimes argues with his dad, who is just a pineapple, but deep down, he really cares about him.
- Granny Yak (Pam Hyatt): She is Yakkity's grandmother. Granny Yak gives good advice, like a parent would. But she also has some of Yakkity's quick and impulsive personality.
- Lemony (Andrea Libman): Lemony is a human girl with blond hair. She has a very active and creative imagination.
- Reginald Highpants (Ian James Corlett): Mr. Highpants sells lots of candy and sugary treats in town. He also runs many other small businesses.
- Trilo (Jason Schombing): Trilo is Yakkity's agent and used to be a circus performer. He owns his own entertainment agency and also hosts children's parties. He is always looking for ways to make money. His clients include Yakkity, Fairy Wanda, and Chuck Damage.
- Professor Crazyhair (Scott McNeil): He is a scientist and a teacher at Onion Falls High. His hair changes color like a mood ring, which is how he got his name. He lives in Yakkity's basement, where he has built a laboratory.
- Penelope (Tabitha St. Germain): Penelope is a robot and Lemony's best friend. She works as Professor Crazyhair's helper. However, she isn't very good at social skills or being confident. When she feels embarrassed, her face turns red, and she sprays fire fighting foam from her arms, turning them into fire hoses!
- Rondo (Ian James Corlett): Rondo is Lemony's older brother and plays football. He is a senior in high school. Rondo often competes with Yakkity for attention and is one of his main rivals.
- Keo's Dad (Michael Daingerfield): He is Keo's father and is a pineapple. He can sometimes be bossy and rude. We don't know who Keo's birth mother is. Keo's dad is usually just a pineapple head, but in one episode, he gets a body with arms and legs.
- Wanda Harper (Brenda Crichlow): Wanda is a fairy who works as the librarian at Onion Falls High.
- Jackie Pachyderm: Jackie is an elephant comedian and a very successful movie star. Yakkity looks up to him a lot.
