Yasir M Jaswal (Urdu: یاسر جسوال) is a talented Pakistani singer, writer, and filmmaker. He is also an award-winning music director.

Yasir was the main singer for his band, Irtaash. He also sang for the band Call. He has directed many music videos that won awards. In 2015, he directed his first full-length movie, Jalaibee. His younger brothers, Umair and Uzair Jaswal, are also singers and actors. Yasir won a Lux Style Award in 2014 for directing his brother Uzair's song Bolay. He also won the Best Music Video Director award at the Hum Award in 2016 for Uzair's song Sajna. Recently, he opened a burger restaurant called Jessie's in Islamabad with his brothers and a friend.

Early Life

Yasir Jaswal was born on March 11, 1983, in Lahore, Punjab. He comes from a Punjabi family. Today, he lives in Islamabad.

Music Journey

Yasir Jaswal started his music career around 2003. He later joined a rock band from Islamabad called Irtaash. This band began in November 2001. They released their first album, Kala Safaid Aasman, in May 2011. It had eleven rock songs. Yasir left the band in October 2011.

In August 2012, Yasir released his first solo song, Khizaan. He produced this song himself.

After leaving Irtaash, he joined Zulfiqar Jabbar Khan's band Call in June 2013. This was a year after their previous singer left. Yasir and Zulfiqar had worked together before in another band called Entity Paradigm.

In 2013, Yasir wrote and created the music for his younger brother Uzair Jaswal's song Bolay.

Directing Films and Videos

Yasir Jaswal started his own company, Jaswal Films. It makes music and film productions. He has directed many music videos, especially for his brother Uzair.

In May 2010, Yasir directed Uzair Jaswal's special Mother's Day song, Maa. In November 2010, he directed Uzair's song Tere Bin.

In December 2011, Yasir directed Shaheryar Mirza's song Aakhri Baar. For this video, he was nominated for a Lux Style Award in 2014 for Best Music Video Director.

In June 2012, Yasir directed a music video for Zoraiz Riaz's song Janay Anjanay (Chupke Se Aye). In August 2012, he directed Omer Nadeem's song Kin Raaston Pe.

In 2013, Yasir directed Uzair's song Bolay. He won the Lux Style Award for Best Music Video Director for this song in 2014. He was also nominated for a Hum Award for Best Music Video in 2014.

In June 2014, Farhan Saeed's song Roiyaan was released. Yasir directed its video. He was nominated for a Hum Award for Best Music Video in 2015 for this work.

Yasir made his first full-length movie, Jalaibee. It was an action crime film based on his own story. The movie starred Danish Taimoor, Ali Safina, Uzair Jaswal, and Wiqar Ali Khan. He filmed it using an Arri Alexa HD camera. This made it the first Pakistani film shot with that camera. The movie was released in Pakistan and other countries on March 20, 2015. It earned a good amount of money compared to its budget.

In 2015, Yasir directed Uzair's music video for the song Sajna. The video featured Uzair, Armeena Khan, and Osman Khalid Butt. It was set in the 1980s.

Personal Life

Yasir Jaswal is the older brother of Umair Jaswal and Uzair Jaswal. Umair is also a singer and actor, and the main singer for the band Qayaas. Uzair is a singer, music maker, and actor. Yasir is married and has two sons.

Yasir owns a cool classic car, a 1973 Ford Mustang.

He and his family live in Islamabad and Lahore.
