Yasuharu Kurata (倉田 安治, Kurata Yasuharu, born February 1, 1963) is a Japanese former football player. He also played for the Japan national team.

Playing Career: Club Football

Yasuharu Kurata was born in Fujieda, Shizuoka Prefecture in Japan. His birthday is February 1, 1963. After finishing his studies at the University of Tsukuba, he joined a football club called Honda in 1986. This club was part of the Japan Soccer League.

In 1991, he moved to another club named Yomiuri. He played there for one season. During that season, his team, Yomiuri, won two big titles: the 1991 JSL Cup and the 1991–92 Japan Soccer League. Yasuharu Kurata stopped playing professional football in 1992.

Playing Career: International Teams

Playing for Japan's National Football Team

In September 1986, Yasuharu Kurata was chosen to play for the Japan national team. This was for the 1986 Asian Games. He played his first game for Japan on September 20, 1986, against Nepal.

In 1987, he also played in the games to qualify for the 1988 Summer Olympics. He played a total of six games for Japan's national football team until 1987.

Playing for Japan's National Futsal Team

Futsal is a type of indoor football played on a smaller field. In 1989, Kurata was selected to play for the Japan national futsal team. He played in the 1989 FIFA Futsal World Championship which took place in the Netherlands.

Coaching Career

After he stopped playing football, Yasuharu Kurata started a new career as a coach. He began coaching at Avispa Fukuoka in 1995. He worked there mainly as a coach until 2006.

In 2007, he moved to another club, Vissel Kobe. Then, in 2010, he joined FC Gifu and became their manager. A manager is like the head coach of the team.

In 2012, he went to China to coach for a club called Dalian Aerbin. He became the manager of that club in 2014. After his time in China, he came back to Japan in 2015. In July of that year, he became the manager for Tochigi SC.
