Josephine "Yeng" Eusebio Constantino-Asuncion (born December 4, 1988) is a famous Filipino singer, songwriter, and guitarist. Many people call her the Philippines Pop Rock Royalty. She is known as one of the biggest hitmakers in the music industry in the Philippines.
In 2006, Yeng won the first season of Pinoy Dream Academy. This was a reality TV show similar to Star Academy. She has won about 70 awards, including a FAMAS Award and many Awit Awards and Myx Music Awards. In 2020, her song "Ikaw" got over 100 million views on YouTube. This made it one of the most-watched OPM music videos by a female artist. In 2023, Yeng joined Republic Records. She also became a global ambassador for Academy of Rock, a music school in Singapore.
Her first album, Salamat, came out in 2007. It was a huge success, selling many copies and getting "triple Platinum" status. It had five songs that reached number one. Her second album, Journey, also did very well. Over the years, Yeng released more successful albums like Lapit (2009) and Metamorphosis (2013), which included the hit song "Chinito." In 2014, her album All About Love was the first Filipino album released on Spotify. It featured the popular song "Ikaw." Her latest album, Synesthesia, was released in 2018.
Yeng is also an actress. She starred in the film Write About Love and won an award for Best Supporting Actress in 2019. As of 2023, Yeng has over 350 million streams on Spotify. This makes her one of the most streamed Filipino artists ever.

Yeng Constantino's Personal Life
Yeng Constantino is the youngest of five children in her family. She is a second cousin to TV host Robi Domingo. Her family raised her as a born-again Christian.
In June 2013, Yeng started dating Victor "Yan" Asuncion. He is also a musician and a worship director at Victory Christian Fellowship. They got engaged in March 2014 and married on February 14, 2015. Their wedding was at a resort in Tagaytay, Cavite. Since September 2015, both Yeng and Yan have followed vegan diets.
Yeng Constantino's Music Journey
Early Career and First Album (2006–2007)
On August 27, 2006, Yeng Constantino tried out for the first season of Pinoy Dream Academy. This was a singing competition. In December, Yeng won the competition. She got the most votes and became the first "Grand Star Dreamer."
After winning, Star Music released Yeng's first album, Salamat. It had 10 songs, and Yeng wrote seven of them herself. The album quickly became a Gold Record and then a Platinum Record. Later, it even reached "3× Platinum Record" status.
Second Album and Group Performance (2008)
After her first album's success, Star Music released Yeng's second album, Journey, on February 28, 2008. The main song from this album was "Ikaw Lang Talaga." This album had 12 songs, and Yeng wrote some of them. It also reached Gold status.
In November 2008, Yeng joined an all-female group called Y.R.S. The group included Yeng, Rachelle Ann Go, and Sarah Geronimo. They performed on the TV show ASAP '08 until 2010.
New Albums and TV Hosting (2009–2012)
Yeng's third album, Lapit, was released in October 2009. It also became a Platinum album.
In March 2010, Yeng started hosting a TV show called Music Uplate Live. It was a late-night music show on ABS-CBN. She hosted it until September 2011.
In October 2011, Star Records released Yeng's first live album, Yeng Versions Live. On this album, she sang popular OPM songs from the 80s and 90s. It was very popular and quickly reached Platinum status.
Transformation and Metamorphosis (2013)
Yeng released her fourth album, Metamorphosis, on January 28, 2013. The first song from the album was "B.A.B.A.Y." The music video for her second song, "Chinito," became very popular. It featured Filipino actor Enchong Dee.
In November 2013, Yeng released an international song called "Better Than Yesterday." This pop song featured Singaporean rapper Sheikh Haikel. Her album Metamorphosis reached Gold status in December 2014.
All About Love and The Voice Kids (2014–2015)
Yeng released her fifth album, All About Love, in October 2014. She tried new music styles with this album. The music video for the first song, "Ikaw," was also her pre-wedding video with her husband, Yan Asuncion. In December 2015, the album received Gold and Platinum awards for selling many copies.
In May 2015, Yeng announced she would be a co-host for the second season of The Voice Kids. She hosted alongside Luis Manzano and her cousin Robi Domingo.
Celebrating Ten Years in Music (2016)
In 2016, Yeng became a mentor on the reality show We Love OPM: The Celebrity Sing-Offs. Her team, called Oh My Girls, came in second place.
Yeng also planned a musical in 2016 to celebrate her ten years in music. It was called Ako Si Josephine and featured her songs.
Later in 2016, Yeng became a judge on the singing competition show Pinoy Boyband Superstar. She judged with Vice Ganda, Aga Muhlach, and Sandara Park.
DIVAS Concerts (2016-2023)
In April 2016, Yeng joined the DIVAS Live in Manila concert. She performed with other famous singers like Kyla, KZ Tandingan, and Angeline Quinto. The concert took place in November 2016.
In December 2018, Yeng, KZ, Angeline, and Kyla performed again at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. This time, they shared the stage with the famous group Boyz II Men.
From July to August 2023, Yeng, Kyla, and KZ toured in the United States and Canada. Their tour was called Vocal Champs.
Synesthesia Album (2018)
In 2018, Yeng Constantino released her sixth album, Synesthesia. It included songs like "Pinipigil" and the hit song "Ako Muna." "Ako Muna" is a pop ballad about self-empowerment. Yeng performed it live on the Wish 107.5 bus, and the video got millions of views on YouTube. The song became a radio hit in the Philippines.
New Record Label (2023)
In 2023, Yeng Constantino became a global ambassador for Academy of Rock. This is a music school in Singapore that teaches rock and popular music.
In the same year, Yeng left Star Music and Star Magic. She then signed with Republic Records Philippines.

When Yeng was younger, she was influenced by artists like Alanis Morissette and Avril Lavigne. She also liked country singers such as LeAnn Rimes and Martina McBride. In 2014, Yeng shared that she was a fan of modern stars like Demi Lovato, Taylor Swift, and Hayley Williams. Since 2018, Yeng has also shown her admiration for Mariah Carey on her YouTube vlog.
