Richard Frierson (born July 9, 1978) is a talented American music producer. He is better known by his professional name, Younglord. He was one of the first members of a special music team called The Hitmen. This team worked for Puff Daddy's famous record company, Bad Boy Records.
Younglord helped create music for two very popular albums in 1997. These were No Way Out by Puff Daddy and Harlem World by Mase. Both albums became number one on the Billboard music charts. Later, in 2000, he was the only producer credited on the song "It's So Hard" by Big Pun. In 2014, Frierson started his own company, The Truth Licensing. This company provides music for movies, TV shows, and commercials.

Younglord's Music Journey
Richard Frierson grew up in New York City. When he was just 16 years old, in November 1994, he joined Puff Daddy's music production team, The Hitmen. He helped create songs for many artists on the Bad Boy Records label. These artists included Mase, The Lox, Faith Evans, and 112.
Since then, Younglord has also produced music for other famous artists. Some of these include DMX, Lloyd Banks, and New Edition. One of his recent big successes was co-producing Diddy's song "Come to Me." This song reached number 9 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 Singles Sales chart. He worked on this song with another producer named Yakubu "Jai" Izuagbe, also known as Rebel.
Helping New Music Stars
Younglord is also known for finding and helping new music talent. He played a part in producer Ryan Leslie meeting P. Diddy. Ryan Leslie worked as an intern for Frierson for 30 days. During this time, they both worked on the song "Keep Giving Your Love To Me" for the Bad Boys 2 movie soundtrack. After this, Ryan was asked to meet P. Diddy.
Frierson had a great idea to create a special place for new artists and producers to grow. He wanted to give them creative freedom. He found talented people like Terry "MaddScientist" Thomas and Atozzio. He helped them get ready to sign music publishing deals with EMI Music Publishing.
Finding and supporting new artists has always been very important to Frierson. After giving talks at Berklee College of Music, Frierson met Keith Harris. Younglord helped guide Keith to Los Angeles. There, Keith became a production partner for Black Eyed Peas' Will I Am. He worked on two of the Black Eyed Peas' albums. He also worked on Estelle's popular song, "American Boy." Another artist Younglord helped was Chris Henderson. Chris went on to write the hit song "Blame It" for Jamie Foxx. He has also written songs for R&B singer R. Kelly.
Music for Movies and More
In 2014, Frierson started his company, The Truth Music Licensing. This company manages a huge collection of over 5,000 songs. They have provided music for major movie studios, TV networks, and famous brands.
The Truth Music Library later changed its name to License To Rock. This change meant a big expansion and a new partnership with a well-known music label. These changes helped License To Rock build a massive collection of songs. It also helped them become a major player in the music licensing world. Some of the places License To Rock's music has been used include Mona Scott's "Love & Hip Hop" TV shows. Their music has also been in Lee Daniels' TV shows "STAR" and "EMPIRE." You might have also heard their music in commercials for brands like Gatorade, Pepsi, and AT&T.
