Zabit Akhmedovich Magomedsharipov (Russian: Забит Ахмедович Магомедшарипов; born March 1, 1991) is a former professional mixed martial artist from Russia. He was known for his exciting fighting style in the Featherweight division. Zabit competed in big organizations like the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and Absolute Championship Berkut (ACB), where he even became the ACB Featherweight Champion.

Early Life and Training
Zabit Magomedsharipov was born in Khasavyurt, a city in Dagestan, Soviet Union, on March 1, 1991. He is from the Akhvakh people. Zabit has a younger brother, Khasan Magomedsharipov, who is also a professional mixed martial artist.
When Zabit was 11 years old, he started training in freestyle wrestling. Later, he began practicing sanda, which is a Chinese martial art. In 2003, he joined a special boarding school called the Five Directions of the World wushu school. He lived there for about 10 to 12 years, focusing on his education and training martial arts three times a day. His coach was Gusein Magomaev, who helped start the school.

Starting His Career
Zabit began his professional mixed martial arts (MMA) career in 2012. In his early fights, he built a strong record of 6 wins and only 1 loss before joining a major fighting group called Absolute Championship Berkut (ACB).
Becoming a Champion in ACB
Zabit had an amazing run in ACB, winning all 6 of his fights. He became the ACB Featherweight Champion and successfully defended his title once. This showed everyone how talented he was.
Fighting in the UFC
In May 2017, Zabit signed a contract to fight in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), which is one of the biggest MMA organizations in the world.
His first UFC fight was in September 2017 against Mike Santiago. Zabit won by making Santiago give up in the second round using a move called a rear-naked choke. This impressive win earned him a Performance of the Night bonus award.
He continued his winning streak in November 2017, defeating Sheymon Moraes with another submission in the third round. This also earned him a Performance of the Night bonus.
In April 2018, Zabit faced Kyle Bochniak at UFC 223. He won the fight by a unanimous decision, meaning all the judges agreed he was the winner. This exciting fight was so good that it earned both fighters a Fight of the Night bonus. After this, Zabit signed a new contract with the UFC.
Zabit kept winning, defeating Brandon Davis in September 2018 with a special submission move called a modified kneebar. He then beat Jeremy Stephens in March 2019 by unanimous decision.
His last fight was against Calvin Kattar in November 2019. Zabit won this fight by unanimous decision, and it was another exciting match that earned him a Fight of the Night award.
Retirement from Fighting
Zabit was a top fighter, ranked number 3 in his division in the UFC. However, in June 2022, Zabit Magomedsharipov decided to retire from professional fighting. He had been dealing with some health issues.
Even though he is no longer fighting, Zabit is still involved in MMA. He is now coaching his younger brother, Khasan Magomedsharipov, who is also an MMA fighter. Zabit has also shown interest in competing in wrestling and grappling competitions in the future.
