Zapolyarny (Russian: Заполя́рный; Norwegian: Zapoljarnyj) is a town in Pechengsky District of Murmansk Oblast, Russia. It is located on the Kola Peninsula. The town is about 10 kilometers (6 miles) northeast of the famous Kola Superdeep Borehole project.

In 2010, about 15,825 people lived in Zapolyarny. The area where the town is located used to belong to Finland from 1920 to 1944. The town itself was started in 1956. It was first called Zhdanovsk. Later, it was given its current name, Zapolyarny.

On February 1, 1963, Zapolyarny was officially made a town. This decision was made by the government of the Russian SFSR. The town is also the closest one to the old Koshka Yavr naval air station, which is no longer used.
