Zeruya Shalev (Hebrew: צרויה שלו, born on May 13, 1959) is a famous Israeli author. She writes many kinds of books.

Zeruya Shalev was born in a place called Kibbutz Kinneret in Israel. She studied the Bible and earned a master's degree. Today, she works as an editor at a publishing house. This means she helps prepare books for printing.
She is married to Ayal Megged. He is also a writer. Her cousin, Meir Shalev, is a well-known author too. Her brother, Aner Shalev, is a mathematician. In 2004, Zeruya Shalev was injured in an event. It took her four months to get better.

In 2012, a German newspaper called Die Welt gave her the Welt Literaturpreis. This award was for all her amazing work. The newspaper said she has a "great magical language."
Her novel Husband and Wife was nominated for the French Prix Femina étranger in 2002. It was also listed as one of the 200 Best Books of the Decade by Fnac in France.
The German newspaper Der Spiegel ranked her novel Love Life very highly. They said it was among the twenty best novels of the last forty years. It was listed alongside books by famous writers like Saul Bellow and Philip Roth. Love Life was even made into a movie in 2007. It was a German and Israeli film called Love Life.
In 2014, her novel The Remains of Love won the Prix Femina étranger. In 2019, she won the Jan Michalski Prize for her novel Pain.
