Zhejiang facts for kids
Zhejiang is a province located in eastern China. Its name comes from the Qiantang River, which was also called "Zhejiang" a long time ago. The name "Zhejiang" means "bent river" because of how the river flows. More than 51 million people live in Zhejiang Province. The main city and capital of Zhejiang is Hangzhou.
How Zhejiang is Divided
Zhejiang Province is split into eleven main areas called municipalities. Think of these as large cities that also include the towns and villages around them. They are like big regions with their own local governments.
