Siti Roziana Zain (born on May 2, 1968) is a famous Malaysian pop singer and actress. She is better known as Ziana Zain. Her music journey started in the early 1990s. She became well-known with her hit song "Madah Berhelah." Other popular songs include "Terlerai Kasih," "Setia Ku Di Sini," and "Puncak Kasih." In 1995, she won the "Voice of Asia" competition in Kazakhstan.

Ziana Zain's Music Career

Early Music Years: 1990–1992

Ziana Zain signed a music deal with BMG Asia Pacific. In 1991, she released her first album, Madah Berhelah. The main song, "Madah Berhelah," was about a person who felt tricked by sweet words. Other songs from the album, like "Riwayat Cinta" and "Dalam Kesakitan ini," showed off her strong voice. These songs helped her become a recognized singer.

Rising to Stardom: 1993–1997

Ziana's second album, Ziana Zain, came out in 1993. It sold over 85,000 copies. This album included a Japanese song called "Chitose Bashi." Popular songs from this album were "Anggapanmu" and "Putus Terpaksa."

Her third album, Setia Ku Di Sini, was released in 1995. She worked closely with local music writers for this album. It sold 175,000 copies and was certified 3x Platinum. Ziana won "Best Female Vocalist in an Album" at the 1996 Anugerah Industri Muzik awards for this work. The album had five hit songs, including "Kemelut Di Muara Kasih." Other songs like "Bersama Akhirnya" and "Setia Ku Di Sini" were also very popular. "Bersama Akhirnya" earned her the Best Solo Performance award.

In 1997, Ziana released her fourth album, Puncak Kasih. This album won Best Pop Album in 1998. Its main song, "Puncak Kasih," was a huge hit. It stayed at number one on the Carta Muzik Muzik chart for 15 weeks. This song also won Best Ballad Song in 1998.

Music and Acting: 1998–2004

After having a baby, Ziana released her album Aku Cintakan Mu in 2001. It sold more than 20,000 copies. This album won Best Album at the 2002 Anugerah Planet Muzik awards. The song "Menadah Gerimis" from this album won Best Ballad Song. It was also named Best Song at Anugerah Planet Muzik. This was Ziana's last studio album with the BMG label.

Taking a Break: 2005–2008

After her 2001 album, Ziana took a break from releasing new studio albums for four years.

Return to Music and Mentoring: 2008–2011

In 2008, she released a mini-album called Dingin. It had four songs and was nominated for Best Pop Song. She also performed the song "Dingin" at a major music competition in 2008.

In 2009, Ziana gave birth to twins, a boy and a girl. She returned to public life in 2010. She announced plans to release two new songs, "Pawana" and "Dirimu Satu."

Ziana also became a mentor on the singing competition Mentor in its fourth season. She and her student, Mohd, won the competition. They received RM 100,000 and a trophy.

She also appeared in a new film called Magika. Her acting in the movie received good reviews. Ziana was also named the spokesperson for Slimworld Beauty House for the seventh year.

Besides singing and acting, Ziana performed in musical theatre. She was in Teater Muzikal Gamat 2 and Musical Theater Antara.

Recent Activities: 2012 – Present

In April 2014, Ziana announced her solo concert, "I Am Ziana Zain." It was planned for September 2014 in Malacca. However, the concert was canceled due to problems with the organizers.

In July 2014, Ziana started wearing a full hijab. She also shared that she was working on a new album. She collaborated with artists like Faizal Tahir and Awi Rafael for this album.

The movie was a big success, earning RM4.2 million. This film helped her become a successful actress. She won the Most Popular Supporting Actress award in 1994.

Ziana has acted in other popular films like Maria Mariana (1996), Merah (1997), and Magika (2010). She has also appeared in television dramas. Her first drama was Cermin Pada Bulan, where she played the main character. In 2007, she acted in a comedy drama called 4 Diva Sekampung.
