Zikoniya Island (which is ostrov Tsikoniya in Bulgarian) is a small, rocky island located in Antarctica. It is about 140 meters long from west to east and 120 meters wide. This island is found near Spert Island and Trinity Island, which are part of the Palmer Archipelago. No people live on Zikoniya Island, as it is a remote and icy place.
The island gets its name from a Bulgarian ocean fishing trawler called Zikoniya. This ship belonged to a company named Ocean Fisheries – Burgas. The Zikoniya and other ships from this company used to fish in the waters around South Georgia, Kerguelen, the South Orkney Islands, the South Shetland Islands, and the Antarctic Peninsula. They operated there from the 1970s into the early 1990s. Bulgarian fishermen, along with those from the Soviet Union, Poland, and East Germany, were among the first to develop modern fishing in the Antarctic region.

Zikoniya Island is located in a specific part of Antarctica. Its exact coordinates are 63°49′54.5″S and 60°59′58″W. This means it is in the southern part of the world, close to the South Pole.
The island is situated about 4.75 kilometers northeast of a place called Bulnes Point. It is also about 1.38 kilometers northwest of Melanita Island. Another important landmark is Romero Point, which is about 7.6 kilometers to the west of Zikoniya Island. British explorers mapped this area in 1978, helping us understand its exact position.
