Łukasz Tomasz Żygadło, born on August 2, 1979, is a famous Polish former professional volleyball player. He is now the chairman of the Polish PlusLiga team, Norwid Częstochowa. Żygadło played for the Poland national team from 1998 to 2014, playing in 247 matches. He took part in the 2012 Olympic Games. He won the 2012 World League and earned a silver medal at the 2006 World Championship. He also won the CEV Champions League and Club World Championship multiple times with Trentino Volley.

Early Life and Education
Łukasz Żygadło was born in Sulechów, Poland. He went to the School of Sports Championship in Rzeszów. He later earned a master's degree in Management and Marketing from Częstochowa University of Technology. He is married to Agnieszka. He is also an honorary resident of Trentino, Italy. He can speak Polish, Italian, English, and Russian. In 2015, he received a diploma from the Italian Sommelier Association.

Club Teams and Achievements
Łukasz Żygadło began his volleyball journey with the Orion Sulechów club. When he was 15, he joined AZS Częstochowa. After finishing his studies, he continued playing for the club in Częstochowa. Between 1997 and 2001, he helped his team win gold, silver, and bronze medals in the Polish Championship. They also won the Polish Cup in 1998.
He then played for other Polish clubs like Nordea Czarni Radom and Skra Bełchatów. In the 2003/2004 season, he won the Polish Cup with his team, Polska Energia Sosnowiec. In 2004, he moved to Greece to play for Panathinaikos, where he won a bronze medal in the Greek Championship. The next season, 2005/2006, he played for Halkbank Ankara in Turkey and won a bronze medal in the Turkish Championship. He was even named the best setter in the Turkish League in 2006. After that, he played for Polish club ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle and Russian club Dinamo Kaliningrad.
In 2008, Żygadło joined the Italian club Itas Diatec Trentino. He played there for four seasons and achieved great success. He won the gold medal at the CEV Champions League three times (2008/2009, 2009/2010, 2010/2011) and a bronze medal in 2012. He was recognized as the best setter of the Champions League 2010. He also won three gold medals in the FIVB Club World Championship (2009, 2010, 2011). With Trentino, he won three silver medals (2008/2009, 2009/2010, 2011/2012) and one gold medal in the Italian Championship (2010/2011). They also won two Italian Cups (2010, 2012).
After four years in Italy, Żygadło moved to the Russian League. He played for Fakel Novy Urengoy for the 2012/2013 season. Then he joined another Russian club, Zenit Kazan. He had an injury in October 2013, which caused him to miss the 2013/2014 season. After recovering, Żygadło returned to Trentino Volley in July 2014. He was very happy to be back with the team. On May 13, 2015, he helped Trentino Volley win the Italian Championship.
In July 2015, he decided to leave Italy and signed with the new Iranian club Sarmayeh Bank Tehran. On March 14, 2016, his team, Sarmayeh Bank Tehran, won the Iranian Championship. Żygadło was a key player in the Iranian League that season. In the 2016–2017 season, he won his second Iranian Championship with the team. On July 6, he won the Asian Club Championship for the second time in Vietnam and received the Best Setter Award for the tournament.
Playing for the National Team
Łukasz Żygadło first played for the Polish national team in 2000. On December 3, 2006, he won a silver medal with the national team at the World Championship 2006 in Japan. On July 5, 2010, he decided to take a break from the national team.
However, on March 31, 2011, he returned to the national team after being asked by coach Andrea Anastasi. In 2011, he won three medals with the Polish national team: a silver at the World Cup and two bronze medals at the World League and European Championship. He also won a gold medal at the World League 2012 in Sofia, Bulgaria. Even after his injury, Polish coach Antiga invited Żygadło to join the national team again in the summer of 2014.
